PARHYANGAN ASPECT

Tri Hita Karana | Parhyangan Aspect | Pawongan Aspect | Palemahan Aspect

Parhyangan aspect refers to human relationships with the spiritual environment to mirror human existence as homo religious or as living creature that entertains belief in a supernatural ruler (God). To achieve wellbeing, man always maintains harmonious interaction with spiritual environment and expresses thw religious emotion, activity, facility and community.
In Balinese culture, as inspired by Hinduism, religian is reflected in various aspects of community life; three hardly exists any aspect of human life that is totally secula in nature. Religious aspects are perceivable everywhere and reflected in harmonious human relationships with the spiritual environment (Parhyangan).
The example of society unity in Bali can be seen in the community organization, krama (community member) as Pawongan element, in wewidangan (territory) as Palemahan element and in Kahyangan Tiga (three community temples: Puseh temple, Dalem temple and Baleagung /desa temple) as Parhyangan element. In the system of Subak (traditional organization for management of irrigation water), are known krama subak as Pawongan element, the agricultural field as Palemahan element and the rituals dedicated to Sri the goddess as Parhyangan element.
Similarly, tourim in Bali might advisably identify the three elements as follows; operators of tourim industry as Pawongan element; tourism nodes and the incoporated infrastructure as Palemahan element; and the ritual conected to Laksmi the goodess as Parhyangan element.
These three elements (Parhyangan, Pawongan and Palemahan) represent an inseparable unity. Harmonioue relationship between these three is beliaved to be able to generate maximum benefit to human spiritual and physical wellbeing. In sharp contrast, unbalanced and disharmonious relationship with more emphasis on only one aspect is beliaved to be able to harm human wellbeing.
